Liu Manni, Feature Story 9 of the 20th Anniversary of LiuGong’s Globalization

LiuGong has a group of young talented people who have dreams and positive attitudes. At present, the number of people born after 1995 accounts for 24% of the total staff in Overseas Business Center. They are proficient in languages such as English, Russian, Spanish, Thai, Vietnamese, etc, and are well versed in international trade, marketing, machinery, IT, and other professional fields. Most of them have been at the front line of international marketing, and over time, they have become a significant force within LiuGong’s global team. Liu Manni is typical representative of this group.

LiuGong’s Slash Generation

Liu Manni majored in international trade at university, and joined LiuGong through campus recruitment in 2018. This officially started her career as a merchandiser. Merchandiser is a pivotal part of LiuGong’s international business, connecting overseas shipments and internal processes. With her professional background, Manni quickly became familiar with the work flow.

During her spare time, Manni takes the opportunity to challenge herself. She actively participates in various activities, including welcome parties, singing competitions, volunteer teaching in the poor mountainous area, and English training. Due to her fluent spoken English and quick-wittedness, she won the title of “Best Contestant” in the English competition held by the company in 2018.

The Global Dealer Conference is an annual event held by LiuGong to communicate with its dealer partners. The 2018 edition coincided with the 60th anniversary of LiuGong’s founding, and the number of overseas guests invited to the conference was the highest in history. Liu Manni was responsible for the simultaneous interpretation of dealers’ speeches on-site during the meeting and completed the task perfectly.

At the 2019 Global Client Festival, she took on the important task of explaining the iLink system, unmanned rollers, and 5G remote control wheel loader in English to more than 500 dealers and customers from all over the world. In order to do the presentation well, she repeatedly asked for advice from product managers and experts, then reviewed and revised her speech, and finally gave the live presentation with ease.

Liu Manni has played various roles, including the anchor of “Global Customer Day” held on May 28, 2021. She is certainly part of the Slash Generation.

Embracing The Challenges

Opportunity always favors those who are prepared. At the beginning of 2020, an opportunity arose and she began working in the Myanmar market in 2021. “While you are young, broaden your narrow concept of life through new opportunities and work encounters, and your life will be richer.”

When she first arrived in Myanmar, she was struck by the exotic atmosphere and the Burmese people’s belief in Buddhism. On weekdays, she works with her colleagues in the office, collaborating with dealers and handling customer issues. Myanmar dealers have been working with LiuGong for 16 years, representing a full range of products. As a result, LiuGong loaders and rollers have the largest market share of any Chinese brand in the market.

For many locals, Chinese brands are still not the first choice compared to European, American, Japanese, and South Korean brands. Liu Manni was most impressed by a major customer in the quarrying industry who tried a LiuGong excavator after only a few visits and product introductions. The customer found that the excavator’s performance was no less than that of any first-tier brands, and that its cost performance was better. In the end, the customer decided to buy the 933E. However, after researching the customer’s working conditions and operational suitability, the LiuGong team recommended that the 933E be replaced with a 950E. The customer was impressed by LiuGong’s professionalism as well as its complete product line and service efficiency. They subsequently purchased a variety of other products, including loaders and bulldozers.

In addition to her sales work, Liu Manni led the Myanmar office to donate books and masks to the local refugee community, and helped plan for the funding of a well for the community to meet the local residents’ water needs. The pronunciation of “LiuGong” in Burmese is very similar to “good man” (meaning a good person). The LiuGong team in Myanmar has certainly been working hard to ensure they live up to this title.

Liu Manni has been stationed abroad for over a year. During this period, for the first time in her life, she spent the Spring Festival without her family. Although she has left her hometown, she still holds her initial drive and determination. Over the year, LiuGong’s sales in the Myanmar market have risen steadily, and LiuGong remains the No. 1 Chinese brand for construction machinery in the market.

Editor’s Note:

Liu Manni has the drive of young people who are willing to challenge themselves and accept new things. In just 4 years of joining LiuGong, thanks to the opportunities presented by LiuGong’s globalization, Manni has quickly completed her transformation from the back office to sales. She has shouldered the responsibility of a new generation of LiuGong workers who, just like the mission of the 20th anniversary of LiuGong’s globalization, are harnessing the power of youth, and continuing to ride the wind and waves.
